Hey, so I actually made a comic for once. Hope you like it!

Inspired by Neil DeGrasse Tyson and all the cool things he says.

Amazing work.

The only way this could have been better is if Kevin Conroy had shown up…

*chortle*

Do folks get locked up in Arkham because they are insane, or is it because Batman isn’t a real cop?

Hell, is any of the evidence Batman collects even admissible in court?

Is he more of a problem than a solution?

Batman

I made this a couple of weeks ago in hopes of making some prints of it, however, both printers I’ve tried resulted in messed up colors.  I’m going to hold off on prints until I get back to classes so I can make proofs on campus before sending out for prints.

Anyways, I really like how it turned out and I’ll let you guys know when it’s up for sale if you’re interested.  I’ll probably only make 30-50 prints so it will be a pretty limited set.

Badass. Love the goggles.

Transformers: Infestation (1 of 2)
IDW Publishing

IDW is doing a thing with zombies and four of their licensed titles. One of those licensed titles is Transformers. I bought the first of two issues this weekend.

**Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead**

Imagine Micheal Bay added Zombies to the next Transformers movie. Then imagine it was adapted into a comic, poorly.

This is that comic.

It has zombies. It has giant frakking robots. It has giant frakking robot zombies. It has all three, battling it out on the Las Vegas strip.

What’s not to like?

Everything. Everything is not to like.

I read this thing twice, and I still have no idea what the hell is going on. MegatronGalvatron crashes into Vegas on a ship filled with zombies, who zombify all the tourists, and the Prime shows up and saves the zombies from the Decepticons(!) and then they stand around and argue for a while, while the artwork keeps panning about to random robots standing around not shooting things.

And then some guy we’ve never seen before takes off his mask and it turns out he’s actually some chick we’ve never seen before. Only, she’s really a robot zombie vampire or something, I don’t even fucking know.

Where the Star Trek Infestation title was fairly good, this is a total mess. You’d think robots and zombies would be awesome together, a mixture impossible to mess up… But, no.

Avoid at all costs.

Star Trek: Infestation (1 of 2)
IDW Publishing

IDW is doing a thing with zombies and four of their licensed titles. One of those licensed titles is Star Trek. I bought the first of two issues this weekend.

The art is very nice - folks look like who they are supposed to be, which is always a bonus in titles based on movies/tv shows. Sometimes the comics look completely different from what we’ve come to expect (I’m thinking of you, Star Trek Countdown), but in this Kirk looks like Kirk, Spock looks like Spock and McCoy looks like a grumpy old fart.

It’s set sometime after Star Trek : The Motion Picture but before Star Trek II : The Wrath of Khan. Some planet somewhere wants to throw McCoy a party for being awesome, so he heads there along with Kirk and Spock in a shuttle craft (along with two security fellows) while the Enterprise goes off and does real work.

The planet the land on is nearly empty, except for a massive zombie horde. In short time, the security guys are zombified (shocker!), and things just generally degrade from there.

It’s a good read, and plays around a little with with some of the characterization and general cliches of both Trek and zombies. It’s not the greatest addition to Trek lore, but it’s not offensive and at three bucks, you could do worse.

I’m very much looking forward to the second issue.
